Huawei to Open New R&D Center in Qingpu, Shanghai


Huawei might have been banned by the US Government, but it continues to gain its footing in home country. The latest news from China suggested that the telco giant had signed a MOU on the new R&D center in Qingpu, Shanghai.

It was reported that the Shanghai Local Municipal and Huawei Company had signed a MOU the new Research and Development Center in Qingpu, Shanghai. Qingpu is about 50km from the city center. The new Qingpu R&D center has a total land space of 2,400 acres.

The center will be based on the principal of “Pragmatic, Efficient, Win-win for both”. The development will cover areas such as integrated circuits, software and information services, Internet of Things, Internet of Vehicles, Industrial Internet, and smart city demonstration applications. The partnership will also strengthen cooperation in technology research as well as development and demonstration of applications.

With this partnership, Huawei is able to expand its business in Shanghai while improving the infrastructure of the city toward smart city. The project will build Huawei's global innovation base by combining modern workplaces with high-tech elements and environmental-friendly elements.
