The are differences between the cameras of iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPhone 12 Pro. From the camera module of both devices, the main different is iPhone 12 Pro is added with LiDAR scanner and the wide sensor is improved with better lightning.
If you are using iPhone 11 Pro Max, it is still good enough for your daily usage even though the successor comes with better aperture and LiDAR scanner. The cameras of new iPhone 12 Pro / Pro Max do not convince us enough on the upgrade. Source.
